Item Description

A rarely seen matrix specimen of Barite from the famous Ojuela Mine. This locality is best known for its Adamites, Wulfenites and Hemimorphites, but good Barites are few and far between. This is one of the most aesthetic and well-balanced matrix pieces that I've seen from this mine. A sharp, well-formed, layered, golden-yellow colored "rosette" of Barite sits aesthetically on gossan matrix. I can only see one small contact, otherwise the piece appears to be pristine. It's show eye-catching and showy that it stands out to me as a stellar example of Ojuela Barite and should be regarded as such for any collector. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #6915). The piece is glued to a custom lucite base.
