Item Description

The Ojuela Mine is much better known for its Adamites and Mimetites than for Fluorites, but the Fluorites are certainly not to be disregarded as is the case with this specimen. This is an older piece, from mining in the 1970s featuring a predominant, 1.6 cm, GEM quality, rich blue / purple cubic crystal of Fluorite aesthetically flaring off matrix. The second smaller crystal is a nice accent to the larger Fluorite. Fine quality and really showy to boot for this elusive material from Ojuela. Please note that the main Fluorite does have a separation mark on the back of the crystal, most likely where another Fluorite crystal existed. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #4804).
