Item Description

Not your tyipcal specimen from Naica. As a matter of fact, I can't remember seeing a piece like this ever from Naica. Many sharp, lustrous, GEM / gemmy, prismatic, hexagonal colorless Quartz crystals are aesthetically flaring off a silvery doubly-terminted scalenohedral crystal of Calcite. To be fair, one end of the Calcite is contacted, but there is a tiny termination so technically it is doubly-terminated. As a matter of fact, I can see that several of the smaller Quartz crystals are doubly-terminated as well. The largest Quartz crystal measures 4.5 cm, and for the most part, the piece is in great shape. I don't think I can officially call this a piece a "floater" as there somewhat of a point of attachment on the back, but it's crystallized about 98% of the way around. It's showy and three-dimensional and would make a wonderful addition to a Quartz collection, a Calcite suite or a Mexican mineral collection. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #8355).
