Item Description

A hard to find sulfide / sulfosalt association specimen from the famous Mundo Nuevo Mine in Peru. Small, sharp "cogwheel"-shaped groups of silvery-grey Bournonite have overgrown crystals of Tetrahedrite which are associated with muted black Sphalerite on "needle" Quartz matrix. In the second photo, you can see the silhouette of the tetrahedral crystal of Tetrahedrite coated by the small Bournonites. The largest group of Bournonite / Tetrahedrite measures 1.3 cm across. Great quality all around and VERY showy! Valued at $950. From the worldwide collection of Tom Campbell. Tom is a mineralogist and mineral collect who works with us here at The Arkenstone. He has over 35 years of experience in the fields of exploration geology, mining, and applied mineralogy, and has even more years under his belt as a collector!
