Item Description

Gorgeous, sharp, lustrous, gemmy bi-colored (purple and golden) cubic crystals of Fluorite measruing up to 1.5 cm are intermixed with gemmy, very pale golden colored scalenohedra of Calcite on minor matrix from this classic locale in southern Illinois. The Fluorites were difficult to photograph, but the main crystal is actually nearly 100% WATER CLEAR as you can see straight through to the matrix beneath. The coloring is unique and eye-catching as the cores of the crystals are a rich golden hue, but show a thin yet distinct rich royal purple color along the exterior edges. Excellent condition with only a few nicks here and there. The piece shows an interesting fluorescence under UV light as well. From the worldwide collection of Tom Campbell.
