Item Description

This is a really fine, complete-all-around specimen of the now-classic Mogok Rubellite Tourmaline, which were nicknamed "Mushroom" Tourmalines when they first came out. This wonderful thumbnail has intense fuschia-maroon color on the exterior with a rich black core. As you can see from the photos, it has excellent 3-dimensional form and it GLOWS with color when backlit. They are not so common now and were declining anyhow as specimen mining in the area itself slowed in recent years. So, if you do not have one yet, i'd say now is the time to get one and this one is superb by even the standards of a few years back when they were more common. If you collect Tourmaline, gem crystals or Burmese minerals, don't miss out on this one. Valued at $700. From the worldwide thumbnail / miniature collection of Irv Brown.
