Item Description

The Bunker Hill mine is a famous lead-zinc-silver mine that produced some of the finest Pyromorphite specimens from the Western Hemisphere. The mine operated for a century (closing forever in 1988), and fine quality specimens such as this one are difficult to obtain on the market, especially nearly 40 years after it came out of the ground. This piece is a beautiful group of very lustrous, greenish-yellow to orange colored hexagonal crystals of Pyromorphite that create this showy and aesthetic thumbnail sized specimen. The largest crystal measures 1.3 cm. There is a little bit of roughness, but overall most of the crystals are pristine. Classic material from Idaho, you don't see it around anymore, and the best pieces from Bunker Hill are among the best Pyromorphites in the world.
