Raspberry Grossular Garnet (ex Irv Brown Collection)

A classic specimen of these well known Garnets. The piece features a few attractive, sharp, dodecahedral "raspberry" color crystals of Grossular up to 1.4 cm with a few secondary crystals on minor matrix from this famous locality that produced specimen in the mid-late 1990s. Good specimens are not common on the market anymore. A few minor imperfections keep the piece from being 100% damage free, but these are some of the most distinctive Garnets in the world, and this is a lovely thumbnail of this now hard to find material.
