Item Description

Apophyllite specimens are RARE compared to other zeolite species from basalt roadcuts in this area. Three exceptionally large, very glassy, terminated, transparent to translucent tetragonal crystals, to 3.5 cm, comprise this very fine and rare small cabinet. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6502 and acquired from California mineral dealer Bill Schneider at the MSSC Show in 1971. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A MUST for the species or locality collector.
