Item Description

One of the staples from Tsumeb is Azurite. Arguably the world's finest quality crystals of the species came from Tsumeb in a wide variety of habits. These specimens are a favorite not only among Tsumeb enthusiasts, but anybody who collects secondary ore minerals, copper minerals, and even general worldwide collectors. This fine quality specimen is a great example of what a good Tsumeb Azurite crystal should look like. The piece exhibits impressive, very sharp, highly lustrous / "wet" looking, striated, monoclinic, prismatic "sword"-shaped form with superb midnight blue color that shows brilliant electric highlights when backlit. The color is so blue, that it's almost purple, if that makes sense. No damage that I can see with the naked eye, save the bottom where it was removed from the pocket wall. I don't have to tell you that the value of Tsumeb specimens seems to rise daily, and fine quality specimens are now highly sought after, and prized more than ever by dealers and collectors alike. Valued at $1,800 for quality and overall appeal. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #1644).
