Item Description

Gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, rose-red, rhodochrosite scalenohedrons are richly and attractively scattering on both sides of the sculptural matrix crust. The striking large rhodo is 1.5 cm. The difference of the rhodo coverage on the two sides is very noteworthy. Adding much panache to the specimen and the manganese oxide matrix is the nearly total coverage by scintillating, gemmy, calcite micro-rhombs. For the rhodo density, the piece is in great shape. The large rhodo has a gently cleaved tip, but very few other rhodos are gently bruised, and they are all on the periphery. The display quality of this piece is outstanding. Very fine rhodo from this locale. Valued at $1250-1500.
