Witherite from the famous Brownley Hill Mine of Cumbria is a classic species. Lustrous, translucent, stepped-growth crystals in the typical conical form cover the front of this showy and excellent old-timer. Mine records at this historic mine date from 1735 to abandonment in 1936. Alston Moor mining evidence dates to 1130!
