Item Description

From a new discovery in the Hunan Province of China at the end of 2016, this piece from what I was told from was a single discovery that only yielded a handful of pieces. This cabinet sized display specimen features very attractive, good sized, sharp, gemmy cubes of Fluorite measuring up to 2.5 cm. The crystals are not only cubic, but show classic "phantom" color zoning. At first glance, the crystals have a really enticing golden color, but upon close inspection, one can see that the centers of the crystals show beautiful purple zoning as well. The crystals sitting on a layer of drusy Quartz on matrix. Like most Fluorites, the larger crystals have darker and more complex color. Minimal damage, and beautiful when backlit. I had this piece priced at $1500 in the inventory, and I don't know if there will be more of them, so if you collect Fluorites or Chinse minerals, don't miss out on this one.
