Item Description

Quartz is beloved for it thousands of habits found around the world. Some of the most distinctive Quartz specimens found in Alpine deposits are the attractive "Faden" crystal groups. This specimen shows the classic "Faden" (German word for string) form that are well known from this locality. This piece hosts a beautiful Quartz group exhibiting a very striking "Faden" that runs across the superb, sharp, lustrous, colorless, GEM/gemmy crystals creating this beautiful display specimen. The top of the piece is crystallized and complete, so don't let the blunt edge fool you. Additional groups of "Faden" Quartz can be seen on the base of the specimen. The most important aspect of the piece is not the "Fadens" themselves, but the fact that they are sitting on MATRIX! I have only seen a handful of pieces of reasonable "Faden" Quartz specimen from Pakistan on decent matrix, and this one is attractive for sure. More than worthwhile for any collector to add to their collection. The overall quality of the crystals on the Quartz is very good. It would rival many superb true Alpine "Fadens" for size, quality and displayability. These Pakistani pieces seemed to have dried up in recent years, and I personally think they are highly underappreciated for what they are. Easily valued at $750 for the quality, and the rare matrix. Enjoy.
