Item Description

This very remote and extinct Pb-Zn deposit, located far above the Arctic Circle is renowned and unique for the amazing diversity of pyrite pseudomorphs after macasite crystals. Bright brassy pyrite has replaced a dramatically sculptural knife-edge marcasite crystal with striking striated faces and a fantastic "backbone" down the center. The side cars add even more pizzazz to this darling cutie. These came out in the 1980s and 90s, as the mine closed in 2002. It displays beautifully without aid.
