Aragonite (Cuprian)

Item Description

A wonderful large cabinet display specimen of Aragonite from Wenshan, where the pretty blue Hemimorphites come from. These beautiful blue Aragonites get their color from the copper content. The piece almost looks as though it should be something organic - similar to a kind of sea life - because one does not often encounter something with this appearance in a mineral. This one is created by stalactitc deposition rather than deposition by tiny sea creatures.
