Aragonite (ex Willard Wulff Collection) (5 pieces)

Item Description

An unusual 5 piece set of somewhat "sharks tooth"-shaped gemmy, pale golden color crystals of Aragonite from an unknown locality in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia. I have never seen this material before, but I trust the label, and considering the size of the valley, it's certainly possible that a small area exists with crystallized Aragonite like this. These crystals comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. The set comes with a hand-written label from Wulff that simply says "Shenandoah Valley, VA"
