Item Description

A hard to find Fluorite from the Marienschacht Mine featuring sharp, slightly translucent, rich purple colored crystals which according to the label have been etched out of Quartz. . No real damage outside of the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket. The crystals are mostly octahedral in habit, but if you look closely, you can see tiny cubic faces from a later generation. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3145). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
