Item Description

I believe this is the first specimen of Hauyne that we've had to offer from this locality outside of Rome. The piece hosts sharp, well-formed, off-white colored crystals of Hauyne measuring up to 8 mm associated with Tuscanite and Anorhite plus green "Fassaite" (Augite) according to the label. A great old classic specimen that could make a fine addition to any Italian mineral suite or a collection of Sodalite Group minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9804). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
