Langite (old classic material)

Item Description

A classic old specimen of Slovak Langite dating back many decades. These specimens are notably different from the contemporary Langites to come out in the last 10+ years. The piece features a rich blue-green layer of Langite covering the underlying matrix. The piece is best seen under magnification, and we used our Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens to better show the quality. The mines of Spania Dolina are among the most classic copper mining localities in all of Europe, and Langite is one of the more sought after species for collectors. Langite is certainly uncommon around the world, and this area produced some of the better known specimens around. Fine specimens of this material are few and far between these days. Valued at $800.
