Item Description

This piece features a pair of wonderful prismatic twins {100} of yellow Laumontite which are associated with crystals of translucent yellow Calcite. A great association specimen and to have two actual TWINS of Laumontite is rare for the locality. It is possible that the Laumontite has been pseudomorphed by leonhardite, as I've seen some of these crystals labeled that way in the past. Now several of the Laumontites are broken, but the two main twins are terminated and undamaged. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6301). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
