Item Description

It should be noted that the locality on this specimen is most likely incorrect, as the Pharmacolite reported from Nowa Ruda (Neurode) is apparently erroneous. With that said, the piece features attractive pink radial "sprays" and botryoidals groups of what was labeled as being Pharmacolite are coating the underlying matrix from this former German locality (now in Poland). Mindat states that Pharmacolite is not actually valid from this locality, so this is most likely Alumohydrocalcite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3154). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
