Item Description

Indian Zeolites and associated specie may still be fairly common on the market, but you cannot deny the fact that they are colorful, attractive, highly displayable and several of them are the finest examples of their respective species extant ! Now it must be noted that Apophyllite is not a Zeolite species, but is often associated with the many Zeolites from India. This piece features excellent, sharp, prismatic, translucent/gemmy, beautiful green color crystals of Apophyllite up to 5.3 cm which are associated with light pinkish-peach colored Stilbite blades on white Mordenite matrix. Nearly damage free (a few Stilbites are contacted) and fine quality for the material. This is an older specimen and came out of the ground 20+ years ago Valued at $1,250 today. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
