Item Description

When it comes to Fluorite specimens, some of the very finest, if not the most impressive and highly sought after are those from the Swiss Alps. Pink and red Fluorite from the clefts in Switzerland are among those minerals that reach the higest caliber of beauty and rarity. Not only are the Fluorites highly sought after, they are valuable even in smaller examples. This specimen features a GEMMY, sharp, well-formed rose pink color octahedral crystal of Fluorite free of matrix. Sure, it's not 100% perfect, hence the auction listing, but it's still very attractive, and nearly comlete on the front display side. Valued at $600 in our inventory. The piece comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371 Strangely, Joe's label states that this piece is extremely rare. I suppose PINK Fluorites are quite rare around the world, so this might be the meaning behind the label.
