Item Description

Although these specimens are not from the type locality for the species, I do believe that the largest crystals from Outokumpu are the largest examples of the species known. This is a classic specimen of the well-known and beautiful chrome green Uvarovites from this old Finnish locale. This piece hosts a sharp, lustrous, well-formed dodecahedron of intense green Uvarovite measuring 5 mm across on host rock matrix. A good representative piece of what are some of the most famous examples of the species in the world. This locality has been closed for over 25 years, and good specimens are becoming increasingly difficult to find these days.
