Item Description

A vivid blue-green Cuprian Adamite specimen from the historic Ojuela mine in Mexico. The color is great for the species and the locality, and the sparkling luster makes this piece very desirable. The piece is in good condition overall with very little damage. The color is what matters here. This mine is well known for its amazingly intense colors of Adamite, and this miniature is certainly a great example of said material. The largest crystal measures 4 mm. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
