Albite on "Chlorite"-included Quartz (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Typically the Albites from the Habachtal in Austria are blocky in habit, but this one shows unusually tabular / compressed crystals sitting on "Chlorite"-included Quartz matrix. The Albites measure up to 1.4 cm across and are undamaged as far I can tell. The label on the specimen states that the Quartz crystals are included with Rutile, but I couldn't find any with a loupe. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2797). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A wonderful association piece from this famous valley in Austria that has produced some of the finest Titanite crystals from Europe.
