Item Description

A beautiful and high quality piece of Baltic Amber from Germany featuring a few interesting and desirable inclusions. The most significant inclusion for me is the presence of SPIDER WEB fibers frozen within the piece. Now you have to look closely (a loupe really helps), but you can see incredibly thin string like threads suspended inside the specimen. Additionally, there is a rarely seen "drop" inclusion, (it looks just like a teardrop), that is positioned beautifully in the center of the specimen. Last but not least, you can clearly see a columnar stalactite that runs the length of the specimen from top to bottom. These inclusions are all quite rare and desirable when it comes to Amber. The piece has superior internal clarity / gemminess and you can see right through it when backlit. This material is sometimes referred to as "Succinite", due to the high amount of succinic acid it contains. Baltic Amber actually has the highest percentage (8%) of succinic acid of any amber in the world. This is a top shelf example of this beloved and celebrated material.
