Amethyst "flower" w/ Calcite (RARE style)

A RARE, striking 3-dimensional amethyst "flower" small cabinet from recent finds at the famous deposits at Irai. Most such specimens from here are nearly flat or are gently concave. The central section is dramatically vertical and nicely accented with glassy, tabular calcite crystals, to 1.3 cm. The bit of attached matrix adds character and some of the matrix caused the vertical section of the flower. The amethyst "petals" are glassy and lustrous, with attractive blush-purple cores and near-colorless tips. One spot of bruising on the radial portion of the flower and a bit of bruising on the vertical section are noted, but are certainly only modest detractions to this RARE style amethyst "flower" with calcite from Irai. These are often valued quite highly when complete and aesthetic, as clusters are rare, and we have seen similar pieces at shows for $750-1500
