Item Description

A RARE and exceptional combination cluster of actinolite-included quartz "prases" from the famous skarn deposits at Serifos Island. This very aesthetic small cabinet is dramatically highlighted by the RARE stunning larger crystals grading upward into gem, pretty light blush-purple amethyst. The striking large crystals are 7.0 and 5.0 cm and have beautiful symmetry. The dense nest of smaller crystals on the sculptural matrix adds even more character to this outstanding specimen. The few broken crystals in the dense nest are barely noticeable and have negligible impact to the overall very high quality of this piece. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). She passed away in 2020. Such amethyst "prases" of this quality are VERY RARE and this is a superlative example.
