Item Description

A cool polished stone of Andesite from the city of Cusco (the former center of the Incan empire) in Peru. Andesite is not actually a species, but rather a rock type, which gets its name from the Andes Mountains. This "Marquise Cabochon" cut stone features a dark background with lighter colored phenocrysts of plagioclase feldspar, that have a slight reddish hue in areas. We've never had a piece of this material to offer in the auctions before, so don't miss out on this attractive gem for your collection.
