Item Description

This is a very architectural Anhydrite piece from famous and distinct finds at Naica over 40 years ago. Dozens of elegant, powder-blue, satin lustered crystals make up this attractive cluster. The aggregate is composed of thin, broad, elongate prismatic crystals that give the piece depth and architectural complexity. The Anhydrites range in size between 1 and 6 cm in length and are a lovely, pale dusty-blue with a noticeable silky luster. Although once fairly plentiful when originally recovered in the mid-1980s, this Anhydrite specimen would nevertheless be considered very good and decent size for the locality. In terms of quality, it ranks highly against finds both then and now. The light dusty-blue color and silky luster are especially attractive. This is a striking and very displayable piece because of the vertical crystals and wonderful silky luster! Old specimen from the Gary Weaver collection, with an old price of $300 on the label that frankly seems low.
