Aragonite (unusual locale)

Item Description

Simply an aesthetic 360 degree "WOW" type of piece, regardless of mineral species. This sugary snow-white Aragonite is a textural wonderland. The varying speleothem (cave) formations of the stalactites and the transitions from one texture to another is truly mesmerizing. The bulbous and globular cave popcorn, up to 2.3 cm wide, dominate the piece with minor small botryoids and some sparkling crystalline frosting in areas as a final phase of generation. The piece is in great condition with only a few minor nicks. The great thing about these cave Aragonites are while they all may have similar features, they are all still uniquely different in appearance. This cave Aragonite is from a very uncommon location with limited production from the mid 1990's. The tips of the Aragonite fluoresce a light yellow. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl.
