Item Description

You don't see a lot of Axinite from any locality in Pakistan, but the "Alpine-type" deposits are quite similar to their European counterparts, so it would make sense that they have Axinite crystals like those found in Bourg d'Oisans, France. This piece is a beautiful miniature sized specimen featuring multiple, gemmy, very sharp, lustrous, "wedge"-shaped crystals of golden brown to lilac-clove colored Axinite-(Fe) in a beautiful "stepped" arrangement free of matrix. The crystal group is fairly thick for Axinite, as most of this kind of material will have fairly thin crystals. The piece is in mostly good condition, as the bottom edge is incomplete, but the top look like from either side. Excellent form, luster, color and gemminess. If you collect "Alpine-type" minerals, this is something that you rarely see on the market. It's not easy to find a multi-terminated group of Axinite like this from any locality, so don't miss out on this one as very few were found at Khapalu, and this is an older specimen going back to the mid 2000s.
