Item Description

An OLD-TIME, VERY SHOWY, two-sided specimen from the famous Detroit Mine at Morenci, Arizona. Stunning, royal-blue, primary azurite botryoids richly and attractively cover the "A" side. The backside of the plate is totally covered with a crust of multi-hued, green botryoidal malachite. The Detroit Mine closed in 1932. A classic specimen from the Earl Calvert (Los Angelese, early 1900s) and David Stoudt Collections. According to Dave"s catalogue, he paid $850 for this classic piece in 2002.
