Azurite (doubly-terminated) (ex Shields Flynn Collection)

Item Description

A wonderful thumbnail sized specimen from the Bluebird Mine near Miami, Arizona featuring a sharp, well-formed, rich royal blue colored, doubly-terminated crystal, with a few accessory crystals growing out of the center, free of matrix. This is certainly one of, if not the best Azurite we've had to offer from this locality, as you rarely seen such fine quality, well-crystallized examples like this from the Bluebird Mine, and this piece is essentially a complete "floater" to boot, as it's crystallized all around, with no point of attachment I can find. If you collect Azurites, copper-bearing minerals, secondary ore minerals or minerals of Arizona, don't pass this one up, it's an excellent specimen from a locality where VERY few specimens are seen these days.
