Item Description

A few years ago, there were a decent number of these specimens on the market, and they now have dried up due to the fact that the locality is finished in terms of specimen production, as they have mined through the oxidized zone, which means these Azurites may never be seen again, and it's is a shame since they are some of the finest quality Azurite to come out of any locality in decades. This gorgeous small cabinet specimen of Azurite features fine quality, very sharp, incredibly lustrous, deep blue crystals measuring up to 1.1 cm associated with a tiny bit of mint green Malachite on a thin layer of matrix. The largest individual Azurite measures about 1.1 cm on edge and some crystals are slightly gemmy near the edges when backlit, showing a gorgeous electric indigo hue. VERY little damage, and just superb quality all around. These pieces do not get enough attention for their superior quality due to the fact that they're fairly new to the market, but they will go down with the finest Azurites from world-famous localities like Tsumeb, Bisbee and Touissit. Priced at $2,000 in the inventory.
