Item Description

The famous Milpillas Mine for all intents and purposes seems to be finished in terms of specimen production, but during its time, it yielded some truly impressive quality Azurite specimens. The best of these Azurites will go down among the finest examples of the species ever found. This miniature specimen features many fine quality, very lustrous, sharp, gorgeous deep blue colored, bladed monoclinic crystals of Azurite measuring up to 1.6 cm which are lightly dusted with a bit of mint green colored acicular Malachite. The contrast of the Malachite on the Azurite is a classic combo and it makes for a nice distinction as some Azurites are untouched and really shine with the superior luster. The piece is not 100% pristine, as you can see there a few contacts, but it still displays well and would look nice in a display case. With strong backlighting, you can see a glowing indigo hue on the edges of some of the Azurite crystals. These specimens are becoming more and more difficult to find now that the locality is done producing, so be sure to pick them up while they're still available on the market.
