Azurite with Malachite

Outstanding cluster of Azurites, on matrix, from the classic locality of Morenci. Numerous beautiful, rich, royal blue crystals of Azurite dominate the matrix, and these crystals have unusually good luster for this locality. The largest crystal is 2.1 cm on edge, and the Azurites display some partial alteration to green Malachite, which adds a beautiful color contrast. Not surprisingly, this area has produced some of the most attractive Azurite and Malachite combinations in the world. Morenci Azurites of this calibre are not common, and matrix specimens are even less so.
