Babingtonite is an uncommon silicate and this showy and excellent Chinese specimen features at 1.3 cm, sharp, lustrous and striated, black babingtonite crystal jauntily set on a two-sided crust of lustrous, translucent, pastel-green, botryoidal prehnite. This cutie is from recent finds at Qiaojia, Yunnan Province and is valued at $420 on the former dealer label.
