Item Description

The well-known Black Cloud Mine in Leadville, Colorado was famous for its attractive sulfide specimens, but it also produced some classic Barytes. These beautiful golden crystals are part of what made Leadville minerals so popular among collectors. This is a good representative small cabinet specimen comprising lustrous, translucent, soft golden colored bladed Baryte crystals measuring up to 2.2 cm aesthetically sitting on matrix. This specimen is at least 40 years old, maybe older. This area has produced some of the finest Barytes from Colorado, and these specimens are highly sought after by Colorado collectors. From the collection of Lee B. Burnett of Morrison, Colorado.
