Item Description

When these fantastic Baryte specimens first hit the market in the early 2010's, they were erroneously attributed to a locality called "Sidi Lahcen". The correct locality is Jebel Ouichane, and it was actually known to French mineral dealer Francois Lietard back in the 1970s and then was "re-discovered" by Tomasz from Spirifer Minerals who was able to bring back some amazing specimens. The combination of the color, luster, gemminess and overall quality makes these some of the most attractive Barytes in the world. They are not only fine quality crystals, but they have formed in beautiful crystals groups on matrix. This lovely cabinet sized piece is a fine quality specimen of this now well known material featuring a 3.1 cm "flower"-like group of silvery-blue colored, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, bladed Barytes crystals aesthetically sitting on matrix. Additional smaller Baryte crystals can be seen on the matrix as well. Virtually no damage and very showy to boot. Priced at $1,800 in the inventory.
