Item Description

A classic from the famous Cavnic (Kapnik) Mine in Romania. This is a gorgeous big showy "flower"-shaped group comprising dozens if not hundreds of thin bladed crystals of gemmy lustrous Baryte, which are a light blue color at their core, but have a very gentle iron coating, creating a blue and yellow bi-color effect, so the crystals almost look green at the correct angle. The Barytes measure up to approximately 2.2 cm on edge, but it was difficult to isolate a single crystal for measurement. The piece is in amazingly good condition with no major damage that I can see with the naked eye. It also sits and displays quite well on its own, without the aid of a base or clay.
