Item Description
Aquamarine crystal specimens are RARE from this obscure county in Hunan, China, better known for world-class Autunite specimens and sharp emerald crystals. The stout, textbook hexagonal bi-colored glassy aqua with satin lustre faces has a striking rich powder-blue, gemmy to translucent mid-section and base with a translucent greenish-blue upper section. Complete all-around. A termination edge is contacted, with very little damage and a modest bit of basal periphery wear is noted. These have minimal impact to the overall high quality and rarity of this aquamarine. Mass is 213 grams. A very fine and rare good sized aquamarine from the locality.
