Item Description
VERY RARE and adorable calcite from a most obscure locale in Pisco Province, Peru! Two butterfly-twinned calcite crystals beautifully set on smaller crystals comprise this elegant thumbnail. The stunning frontal twin is pristine, with twin on the back side having a broken "wing". Calcite twins of any habit are RARE from any Peru locality. Mineral specimens of any type are extremely rare from this district. MINDAT features no examples in the Photo Gallery. A very rare, perhaps UNIQUE butterfly-twin calcite from Peru!
