One of the most desirable Calcite varietals worldwide for are these beautiful pink cobalt-bearing examples from Morocco. For man years, the Bou Azzer Mine has been a source of some of the finest pieces of this gorgeous material ever found. This specimen hosts superb quality, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, beautiful pink color, prismatic, trigonal crystals of cobalt-bearing Calcite measuring up to 2.1 cm on matrix. Nearly all of the crystals are completely undamaged and most of them are VERY GEMMY! Valued at $4,500 for quality, specimen size and wonderful color, making this a great opportunity to pick up a beautiful and showy display specimen of this iconic material for a great bargain. From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#33 M), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel.
