The prestigious Huanggang Deposit in Inner Mongolia, China has been producing a large number of excellent crystallized mineral specimens for a while now, and they are some of the most distinctive and unique minerals from any Chinese locality. This piece is a from a find from around 2015 featuring a beautiful "rosette" / "flower"-shaped near "floater" group of highly compressed, thin tabular Calcite crystals with a slight greenish hue caused by minor inclusions of Actinolite. There were very few of these available, and this piece one of the best we've had to offer in the auctions. The fact that the piece is almost 100% intact is impressive as the crystals are somewhat delicate, and I can only see a few spots that are contacted. Priced at $1,850 in the inventory. From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#935 C), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel.
