Item Description
Mineral specimens are RARE from this less well-known W-Sn-Mo-Bi skarn deposit - the Dongposhan Mine in Hunan. A striking, very sculptural 360-degree diverging small cabinet cluster of frosted, translucent calcite scalenohedrons, to 7.3 cm, is dramatically peppered with clusters of tiny, lustrous, brassy pyritohedrons. Complete all-around and pristine. Ex Hefendehl Collection. Pink calcite fluorescence. An exceptional, rare and very showy combination calcite with pyrite from the obscure locale. Most likely from the 1990s or early 2000s.
