A beautiful full cabinet display specimen featuring a predominant sharp, stout, scalenohedral crystal of translucent Calcite which grades in color variation from nearly colorless to a reddish-orange hue (iron included) on an earlier generation of additional Calcite crystals on matrix. A few secondary "dogtooth"-shaped scalenohedral Calcites can be seen on the piece, but it's the large crystal (which measures 4.3 cm) that draws the eye. The big crystal is damage free, and the piece is expertly trimmed so it's well-balanced and very showy A very attractive and eye-catching specimen of this find, where the locality in Hubei Province was not divulged for some time.
