Calcite on yellow Fluorite

Item Description

This is a beautiful combination specimen from this historic German silver mine. It features a divergent cluster of lustrous and scintillating, very pale pink-white complex Calcite scalenohedrons associated with gemmy, yellow Fluorite cubes! The Calcite group is made up of a few dozen, sparkling, multifaceted, translucent, scalenohedral crystals that have just a hint of pink to them. This cluster sits attractively off to one side and is balanced by a few dozen transparent yellow Fluorites from 3 to 5 mm in size that are lightly sprinkled with tiny (1 mm) Marcasite crystals. There is no damage to the piece, just contacting around the periphery from being collected. This is a showy and well composed small cabinet piece. The Segen Gottes Erbstolln Mine was mined, remarkably, from the 13th Century to 1885!
